Advion Fire Ant Bait Granules

Granular fire ant bait, by Dupont.
Contains Indoxacarb....0.045% active ingredient.
For best results, apply ant baits in cool of the day, morning or evenings, as this is when fire ants are usually foraging for food.
If fire ants become an indoor pest, broadcast Advion Fire Ant granules in lawn and around the building and spot-treat indoors with Advion Ant Bait Gel.
When broadcasting, use 1.5 pounds to 5 pounds per acre. (Not for use on graze lands, pastures.)
If individual mound treating is desired, use the following guidelines:

Never "dump" ant baits on fire ant mounds (or other ant bed mounds.)
Ants (especially more aggressive ants such as fireants) will usually consider bait that has been dumped on their mound as an attack of some sort.
How many times have you found yourself "chasing ant mounds" around the property? Resist the temptation to treat directly on the mound when using ant baits or fire ant bait. Instead, broadcast 3 or 4 tablespoons of granular bait AROUND the fireant mound. With this method, fire ants are more likely to consider the bait to be food. Bait acceptance is of utmost importance in controlling the entire colony of ants.

Apply Advion Fire Ant Bait in mornings or evenings, as the ants will be more likely to find the bait as they forage.
Baits applied in Spring and Fall of year often are accepted by the colony better than heat of Summer.

Do not apply granular baits immediately before irrigating the lawn or just prior to rain. Best to wait the day after a rain, for best results.

Do not use fire ant baits in areas where contact insecticides have been used in prior 14 days. Contact sprays and granules do not mix well with bait.
Fire ants usually avoid ant baits that has been exposed to other insecticides, herbicides.

Ant baits work slowly, by design. Be patient when getting rid of fire ants with an ant bait. When Advion is applied correctly, re-treatment is not usually necessary for at least twelve weeks.
