Ant Cafes are small bait stations made for baiting ants or other insects. Each plastic station can be filled with your favorite bait. There are pests such as Pharaoh Ants and Argentine Ants that require a great deal of baiting in order to bring the population under control or to prevent infestations. These types of ants can be a problem because of their high number of workers, multiple colonies in any given area and the fact that they cannot always be eliminated for good. Pharaoh Ants are a particular species that, once they have become established in a structure, take a great deal of patience to bring under control. Argentine Ants can also be a problem if you live in an area where they always re-infest because of the area in which you live.

The Ant Cafe is designed to hold gel formulations or liquid formulations. Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait is a very popular bait that can be placed in areas of high ant traffic when contained in Ant Cafes and AntPro baiting system. Gourmet baits are available in liquid and gel formulations, both of which can be used to fill your Ant Cafe.

When multiple types of bait or rotation of baits is called for, due to an ant colony being finicky about which foods are wanted or needed by the ant population, there are different gel baits that can be used in your ant control program. Gourmet Ant Bait Gel and Maxforce Ant Killer Bait Gel usually work best. Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait can also be used in the Ant Cafe when implementing a baiting program for carpenter ants.

Carpenter ant control baits are available in granular ant bait and gel ant bait. Most people have good success when using Advance Carpenter Ant Bait Granules outdoors but there are times when an additional bait is necessary. By filling your Ant Cafe stations with Maxforce Carpenter Ant Bait and attaching the stations to small limbs of shrubs or other ornamentals close to the house, you give the foraging carpenter ants another choice of foods in a great location. Carpenter ants are often found feeding on sugars produced by aphids which feed on certain ornamental shrubs, trees or flowers. A few properly placed ant cafes filled with carpenter ant bait is a great tool in elimination of carpenter ants.

Do not use more than one type of bait in a single Ant Cafe! When unsure as to which bait to begin with, you can use Gourmet Gel in a few stations and Maxforce Gel in others. Inspect each Ant Cafe every day or two. These inspections will let you know if the ants prefer one bait over the other or if a particular location is best. Be prepared to switch out baits and/ or locations as the ants decide they want a different food.
