DeltaGard granules should be spread around the entire home. After applying DeltaGard, simply water the granules and keep pets and children out of treated area for a couple of hours. DeltaGard contains a synthetic pyrethroid insecticide (Deltamethrin) which poses far less possible hazards than Dursban or Diazinon. Deltamethrin is also the active ingredient in Suspend SC, an odorless, general purpose insecticide used to exterminate fleas, spiders, ants, roaches and most indoor pest problems.

DEMON EC

If fire ants are present, drench mounds with an approved insecticide to quickly eliminate them. Products containing Cypermethrin Demon EC the best for mound drenching. Demon EC can also be used for indoor ant, roach and spider control.

An alternative to putting out granular pesticides is the use of an outside bait. Maxforce Granular Ant Bait is the best. The bait method takes a little longer but works well and poses no hazard to non target species. Bait every 3 months to keep ant populations under control.
