Quad Blasters were initially used to help keep pigeons out of overhead areas in warehouses and other indoor locations. Although there was limited success with the unit, best results were obtained by combining multiple units (with increased costs) with two or more visual scare devices.
The next step in technology was the introduction of the Ultrason X, another ultrasonic unit that can be used both indoors and outdoors. The Quadblaster is an indoor only unit that cannot withstand elements associated with the outdoors.
The second, and most important, feature of the Ultrason X is the variety of
settings or frequencies that can be used to repel nuisance animals. The Quadblaster has 1 frequency but the Ultrason X has frequencies that can be used in different combinations. Having a variety of settings helps keep targeted wildlife off balance. It has been found that almost any animal can eventually become accustomed to almost any sound, whether it be sonic or ultrasonic.
The latest models of the ultrasonic devices have the ability to add extension speakers for better placement in areas such as parking garages where support beams often interfere with the ultrasonic beams.
