Gourmet Ant Baits are formulated to stay moist for longer periods of time which makes them more attractive to targeted ant pests. The patented attractant Uni-Tract is effective on ants that feed on sweets and proteins. If you have finicky ants, you need a bait that is attractive to them when they are foraging for sweets as well as when they change to foraging for protein based foods. The active ingredient in Gourmet Ant Bait Gel and Gourmet Liquid Ant Baits is Disodium Octaborate Tetrahydrate (also known as DOT.) This material is less repellent that other Boron based materials which makes it less likely to repel ants and improves bait acceptance over other baits made with borates.

Gourmet Ant Bait Gel

The gel formulation contains 6% DOT, which makes it effective for control of entire ant colonies. Gel is packaged in 1.10 ounce syringes that are available in small and large kits. The kits also contain Ant Cafes, ant bait stations that can be filled with Gourmet Ant Bait Gel or Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait. Recent studies show that foraging ants take only 1/4 as much food in gel form as compared to feeding on liquids. This dose of DOT delivered to the ant colony is about the same as in a 1 to 2 percent active ingredient liquid bait. Gel baits tend to dry out quickly unless placed in an Ant Cafe.

Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait

This liquid formulation contains 1% DOT for a faster kill of targeted ants. Different ant species can require stronger or weaker formulations of bait. The Gourmet Liquid Ant Bait label allows you to dilute the bait down to 0.5% active ingredients to help save money while eliminating ant nests, ant colonies.
