In rodent/ rat removal situations where kill traps or rat baits are not desired or cannot be used.  This 5x5x18 inch trap is designed for capture and release of small animals: rats, squirrels, flying squirrels, chipmunks.
Mice should be trapped with a Run Way or Tin Cat.
Baiting for rats is simple: Use a food source familiar to the rodent in your area or bait the trap with a piece of candy bar (Three Musketeers, Snickers, Reese's) or slice of apple or dog food on a piece of peanut butter coated bread.  A cotton ball or piece of cloth tied to back of trap can also be used to lure a nesting female rat.  Apply a drop of vanilla extract to material for added attractant.
