Maxforce Fire Ant Killer Granular Bait's patented formula contains a special blend of foods, combined with the delayed-action stomach poison, Hydramethylnon.  This material is specially formulated to allow time for worker ants that find the bait to carry it back to other ants before dying.  Maxforce Fire Ant Bait kills the queen and the colony.  This product controls imported and native fire ants and other ants such as harvester ants and big headed ants.  For use in homes, residential, commercial and other structures and in the non-food/ feed areas of institutional, warehousing and commercial establishments.  This includes groceries and supermarkets, hotels and motels, hospitals and nursing homes, schools, laboratories, computer facilities, food storage areas and pet shops and in the inedible product areas of meat or poultry plants.  "Non-food areas are areas such as garbage rooms, lavatories, floor drains (to sewers,) entries and vestibules, offices, locker rooms, machine rooms, boiler rooms, garages, mop closets and storage (after canning or bottling.)

Outdoor Use

Apply when ants are active( typically when soil temperature is greater than 60 degrees F). Repeat applications as needed.  For best results, broadcast Maxforce Fire Ant Killer Granular Bait in Spring and Fall; spot-treat individual mounds which might appear between broadcast applications.
When treating individual mounds, distribute bait uniformly around the mound.  Do not apply directly to the mound; do not disturb the mound!  Use 2 to 5 level tablespoons (.5 to 1.0 ounces) per mound.
Broadcast treatment:  Broadcast bait evenly; the use of a granular spreader will help ensure even coverage.  Use 1 to 2 pounds Maxforce Fire Ant Bait per acre.  Do not apply other insecticides (such as sprays, dusts or granules) on top of or in close proximity to this product (or any insect bait!) as it will greatly reduce its effectiveness.
Do not use on edible food crops or on areas intended for edible food crop production.

Indoor Use

Always avoid contamination of food, food contact surfaces and feedstuffs.  Indoor applications are limited to areas that are inaccessible to children or pets such as cracks, crevices, wall voids, unfinished attics, crawl spaces and behind electrical switch plates within residential and non-residential building or structures; within non-food/ non-feed areas of industrial, institutional an commercial buildings.  Apply up to 2 tablespoons of bait per placement in areas where insects may hide or live.  Clean up any loose or excess granules.  Apply evenly in crawl spaces at a rate of .5 ounces per 100 square feet only if the space is secured or otherwise inaccessible to children and domestic animals.  Do not apply other insecticides (such as sprays, dusts or granules) on top of or in close proximity to this product (or any insect bait!) as it will greatly reduce its effectiveness.  Control of indoor ant pests can, however, be enhanced by combining granular bait with Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations.  Using the combination of Maxforce FC Ant Bait Stations and Maxforce Fire Ant Bait enables you to use more bait, in different areas.  Place bait stations where foraging ants are found; place granular bait in areas where bait stations are not practical.
