Natural pyrethrin products pose far less risks to mammals than Organophosphate, Carbamate insecticide chemicals but have no residual or long term control qualities. This combination of safety and no residual is great for fogging warehouses and restaurants, using in bug bombs and animal control products (flea shampoos, flea sprays) but no residual affect is not desired for most home pest control problems.
Over the last few decades, chemists have been able to improve on Mother Nature's pyrethrin insecticides in better, odorless and more stable pesticide formulations.
These products are available in liquid concentrates, wettable powders, insecticide dusts, granulated insecticides.

Bifenthrin is one of the newest products on the market and is the best for killing molecrickets, ants and other pests of lawns and ornamentals. The unique biphenyl action binds the molecule to the soil. In other words, the chemical stays where you apply it and does not leech.
